L-3 Communications Integrated Systems

Frank L. Brandon is the Director of Advanced Technology at L-3 Communications Integrated Systems (L3/IS) headquartered in Greenville, Texas. He is responsible for managing R&D activities as well as development of contract-funded research and SBIR initiatives.

At L3/IS, Mr. Brandon has been involved in application of technology to solve specific military problems for more than 30 years. His responsibilities have included design, development and fielding of technologies for remote sensing and measurement of various phenomena for both airborne and ground-based systems. He has also led research in technologies ranging from optical and infrared sensors to microelectronics and algorithm development.

Mr. Brandon has worked with technology industry leaders and universities to bring the two groups together to focus on solutions to specific technology problems. This bridging between the academic and business worlds has demonstrated success on several programs for U.S. government labs and organizations such as DARPA.

He has served on the Metroplex Research Consortium Industry / University Research Advisory Council as well as the Board of Directors for a medical information company. He is currently on the Engineering Advisory Board and the Industrial Technology Advisory Council at Texas A&M University-Commerce, as well as the Advisory Board for the Center of Excellence for Communications Systems Technology Research at Prairie View A&M University.
